Children are assessed frequently: teacher observation, teaching team discussions, records of work and a variety of tests are combined to profile each child’s progress as he or she moves through the school. Close co-operation and liaison between members of staff helps to ensure continuity. The children’s achievements in maths, English and science are formally assessed each term using National Curriculum Levels. Written reports are sent to parents twice a year; parents evenings also are held twice a year. Parents are encouraged to keep in touch with their child’s form teacher on a week by week basis. |
