Monday was a very exciting day for 22 of our pupils as they performed on stage at the Barbican in front of a full house. The Chamber Choir was chosen by audition to go through to the final stage of the Barnardo's National Choir Competition. This competition receives entries from choirs across Britain and it is a tremendous achievement to get through to the finals. St. Helen's College was the only school from the London Borough of Hillingdon to be chosen to take part. The choir, made up of boys and girls from Years 5 and 6, performed two pieces: Like a Singing Bird by Bob Chilcott and a choreographed version of It Don't Mean a Thing if it Ain't Got That Swing by Duke Ellington. The children performed exceptionally well and enjoyed their experience very much, despite not being named winners.
