Poppies are now on sale at both the Upper and Lower School offices. Please do allow your child(ren) to buy one to wear. As usual, the school will mark Remembrance Day with a silence and children will be asked to remember the great sacrifices made for their freedom.
Children in Need
We will be having a spotty tog day on Friday, 18th November. Children should come to school on this day wearing something spotty and should make a donation (suggested minimum £2). Our Year 6 children will be helping to organise fundraising for Children in Need, so do look out for their posters and allow your children to get involved with the Children in Need raffle and any other small fundraising events as they are publicised.
Operation Christmas Child
Once again this year, the school will be supporting Operation Christmas Child, which sends shoe boxes filled with useful Christmas gifts to needy children around the world. Please do make up a box with your child; you should select a medium sized shoe box and wrap the box and lid separately in decorative paper. Then decide whether your gifts are for a boy or a girl and for which age group. Finally, fill the box with suitable gifts and include your slip and a £3 donation. It is possible to pay the donation online if you would prefer to do so.
Please follow the full guidelines on the two leaflets attached here and here. Paper copies have been sent home with children in book bags today.
You should bring your completed box to school by Thursday 17th November at the absolute latest please.
Thank you so very much for your support in helping to raise money and give gifts to vulnerable children here in the UK and around the world through these two children's charities.
