We enjoyed a truly marvellous Singers' Concert on Tuesday evening, as the various winners and runners-up of our Singing Competition joined with the choirs to perform to peers, parents, staff and our new Head Mrs. Drummond in All Saints Church. The programme was varied and there were many highlights. The poise and talent of our young singers amazed the audience as they took to the stage solo, in duets and in groups to perform songs which they had chosen, prepared and practised themselves. Some groups had even worked out choreography. The standard was extremely impressive and the evening was rounded off with a rousing performance of 'All You Need Is Love' by the staff/parent choir! Very well done to all those involved in this magical evening.
The children in R2 did a tear-jerking performance on celebrating Fathers' Day. They gave us facts about its history, sang us some lovely songs on Fathers, and told us all why they loved their daddies. They also showed us their paintings of their fathers' faces, which caused some hilarity! This assembly was much enjoyed by the parents!
4T gave us many interesting facts about the history of the royal family to celebrate the Queen's 90th birthday. They also enacted the coronation of the Queen, with the appropriate royal music. We all stood to sing the National Anthem, and 4T sang the hymn 'Abide with Me' which is a favourite of the Queen's. 4T also performed a poem about the Queen. This was a lovely ending to our festivities to celebrate the Queen's birthday.
