6L did a wonderful assembly about life in Victorian times. It was like going into a Victorian classroom when I later took visitors around and the children were working normally but wearing their Victorian costumes! The assembly consisted of solo singing, group singing and acting out scenes from the past. The children acted confidently and sang beautifully. It will have been a great learning experience for the younger children as well as very entertaining. Well done 6L!
The nursery children really enjoyed singing a selection of harvest songs for their parents. They sang energetically with beaming faces and loved their first experience of performing to a large audience.
The Reception and Year 1 children each gave us in their separate harvest assemblies a selection of songs and information about harvests and why we celebrate. Both year groups spoke individually in good clear voices and confidently told us their harvest facts. The infant choir, numbering over 60, sang a couple of songs between the two assemblies, and made a great sound with their enthusiastic singing and entertained us with their actions!
