Each St. Helen's College class from Year 3 to Year 6 had been given a different French poem to learn. Their French teachers, Mrs. Pandya and Mrs. Stark, heard each child recite their poems and selected one pupil from each year group to go forward to the final at St. Mary's. This was an extremely difficult job as all of the pupils did such a good job of learning and reciting their poems.
Melisa, Suraj, Ava and Anisa (pictured) were the four pupils chosen to represent the school at the event. On the day, they did extremely well. The standard at the competition was very high and our pupils competed with children from more than fifteen other schools. They acquitted themselves extremely well and thoroughly enjoyed their day. Well done to all those who learnt French poems, and particularly to our four finalists!
