One lunchtime activity involved the children using their creative minds and Nature’s resources to make a giant face of their choice. Gloves at the ready and closely supervised by Mrs.Waller and Mrs. Hawkins, the children ran off and excitedly began collecting anything that they thought they may be able to use in their design. They collected leaves, small twigs and large sticks and one group imaginatively used an old tennis ball for Mrs. Waller’s nose!
The winners from Year 2 made a happy looking stick man, which stood out nicely on the path background and the winning Year 3 group made a very impressive Mr. Crehan! There were joint winners in the Upper School, a mixed Year 4 and 5 group, who made an attractive Mrs.Waller, and a Year 5 boys' group that made a very distinguished face, complete with bushy beard!
The children thoroughly enjoyed themselves and numerous passers-by commented on how lovely it was to see the children with such big smiles on their faces. It was great to see the children having so much fun with nothing more than a wide open space and their imagination.
