As part of their 'Local Food' initiative, Iver Environment Centre are running a 'Growing Minds' Recipe Competition for budding young chefs. Each child who submits a successful recipe will receive a Star Chef award and their recipe will be included in a recipe book which will be published and distributed to every school in Hillingdon. Children whose recipes are included in the book will receive a free book and the book will also be available to buy.
At least one of the ingredients in your child's recipe must be something they have grown at home or in school, such as a herb, spice or fruit. There are seven sections planned for the book, as follows:
Cooking and Eating Outdoors
After School Meals
The deadline for entries is the 1st December 2013 and full details and an application form are available here. Please send your entries into the School Office at Upper or Lower School and not directly to Iver. We will collate the entries and keep copies of them here at school. We might even publish our own St. Helen's Cookbook if enough entries are received.
Best of luck to all of our budding young chefs!
