Communicating With Parents
In cases where we need to inform particular groups of parents about changes to arrangements e.g. for cancellation of co-curricular clubs, we use either email or SMS (text) message. If we know about changes more than 24 hours in advance, we will email you; if a change/cancellation is necessary with less than 24 hours of notice, then we will text you. Please do check emails and mobile telephones regularly so that you do not miss important information.
Good nutrition and a balanced diet throughout the day will help pupils grow and develop and a healthy diet can aid concentration and attainment in school, help raise activity levels and reduce obesity. We ask parents to support this by providing only healthy snacks for morning break.
- Fruit or salad (cut/sliced if appropriate, and packed in a labelled airtight container).
- A low sugar/fat cereal bar (no chocolate or nuts).
- A sandwich.
- Cheese and savoury biscuits.
Please wrap snacks appropriately and label them with your child’s name.
A number of children at the school are allergic to nuts and can experience severe reactions if exposed to nuts or nut products. Parents must not send nuts to school, and should do their best to exclude foods which contain nut products.
In cases where a mobile phone is genuinely required for a Year 6 child who makes their own way to/from school, written permission must be requested from the school and the phone must be handed in to the school office by the child immediately upon arrival at school and collected promptly, by the same child, at the end of the school day.
