Parents have always been very generous with flowers for Open Day. We would be very grateful indeed if, next Friday, you would kindly send some flowers from your garden to decorate the classrooms. If you were able to lend us vases (non-precious) it would be very helpful. Do ensure that your vase is labelled with your name. This will be a half day with school finishing at 11:50 for Nursery; 12:00 for Reception; 12:10 for Years 1 and 2; 12:20 for Years 3 and 4; and 12:30 for Years 5 and 6. Older siblings will be released at the same time as their younger brothers and sisters. May we remind that you there will be no Funtasia, as the teachers and staff will need to prepare all of the rooms for Open Day.
Open Day 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Saturday 16th March is Open Day. Its main purpose is to welcome existing parents to school to view their children’s work, and to tour the school and see what other classes have been up to. A huge amount of work, by children and staff, goes into the preparations, and we do hope that you will be able to come. Please note that there will not be time for consultations with the teachers about your children's progress.
It is also an opportunity for prospective parents to visit and see what goes on at the school. If you know somebody who you think might be interested in sending their child to St. Helen’s, do tell them about Open Day. Most families come to the school through personal recommendation, and your support in continuing this tradition would be greatly appreciated. We recently sent you a few leaflets to pass to friends or post on notice boards at work or in local shop windows or libraries. Do ask if you can make good use of additional leaflets!
