Following qualification back in November, our Y5/6 athletics team competed in the Borough Sports Hall Athletics competition this week. The event is for the top 5 schools from the 50 plus primary schools across the borough of Hillingdon to come together to compete in a variety of running, jumping and throwing events in the hope of being crowned Borough champions. Our team faced tough competition from some formidable opponents: Lady Banks Primary School, Newnham Primary School, Whiteheath Primary School and Oak Farm Junior School, all much larger schools than St. Helen's College. All of our athletes tried incredibly hard and gained many points in the field and track events, with the boys 4 x 1 relay team finishing the night with a splendid dip on the line to finish in 1st place! Overall St. Helen's College came 5th, with a very strong Whiteheath being crowned champions on the night. Well done to everyone in the team - reaching the Borough finals as one of the top 5 schools in the borough is a great achievement. Team members were Sam Y, Lewis F, Shaan P, Ayomide A, Ayobami A, Alex J, Tise B, Navika S, Yasmin P, Libby A, Olivia L, Sophie H and Shian S.
