This week our Year 3 and 4 tennis players took part in the School Games Borough Mini Tennis Tournament held at Tripletts Community Tennis Centre. The event attracted 24 teams from schools across the borough and each team, consisting of two boys and two girls, played singles matches against other schools in a round robin group initially. Through some solid matchplay both our A team and B team progressed to the quarter finals. Our B team played Oak Farm B team and our A team played Warrender in the quarter finals. Both St. Helen's College teams won to reach the semi finals but in different halves of the draw. Our B team met West Drayton in the first semi final and showed some great rallying skills to win the match and reach the final. In the other semi final our A team met a strong Botwell House team. Our players played incredibly well and the matches were very close but it was Botwell who went through to the final to face our B team. The final was very exciting with long rallies being played and lots of support from the watching spectators but Botwell were a strong team and eventually won the match to be Borough champions. Many congratulations to our B team Elsie, Amishi, Leo and Thomas who received silver medals and our A team Ashay, Timi, Ryessa and Genevieve who received bronze medals.
Ten Year 4 and Year 5 boys and girls took part in the School Games Borough Tag Rugby Tournament at Ruislip Rugby Ground this week. All of the matches were closely contested and the team did well to lose by one point to Lady Bankes and to win against Oak Farm and Yeading. The match against Oak Farm was particularly exciting and the children's team play was impressive. The team progressed to the quarter-finals where they were beaten by an in-form BWI. Well done to all those involved and thank you to Mr. Lewis for training and supporting the team.
This week a team of Y4 and 5 girls took part in a Hi Five netball festival held at St. Mary's School, Gerrards Cross. The girls played extremely well throughout the event to reach the final to play the team from Gayhurst. The final was keenly contested with each team attacking and defending with great enthusiasm. As the final minutes counted down it couldn't have been closer and as the final whistle blew Gayhurst won by just one goal. Many thanks to Miss Cooper for training the team and taking them to the tournament and well done to all of the girls who played: Tito, Sophie, Helina, Vy, Zoe, Rumanique and Emily.
Last week our Y5 and 6 pupils took part in the School Games Borough Tri Golf Tournament held at Ruislip Golf Club. Many congratulations to team members Helina, Chloe N, Olivia, Abigail, Navika, Joe B-C, Amar K, Abhay, Ethan C and Ben.
