Following qualification last week our girls' football team took part in the Borough finals this week. The top 6 qualifying teams from across the borough were invited to take part in the event held at Guru Nanak School, with the winners going forward to represent Hillingdon at the School Games in March. Our team got off to a flying start, winning our first two matches against Dr. Tripletts and Hayes Park 1 - 0 thanks to goals from Tito. The team then played very well against Coteford and Hillingdon but, despite some great play, we lost both of these matches 1 - 0 and in the final group match against St Swithun Wells our team managed to get a draw 0 - 0. At the end of the group stages St. Helen's finished in 4th place, narrowly missing out on bronze medals. Well done to all of the team members: Misha, Tito, Sophie, Victoria, Elsie, Ryeesa, Lily and Genevieve.
Our Year 6 A and B teams took part in a friendly netball match against Reddiford School this week. Our B team, playing in their first match this season, played very well as a team to win the match 7 - 2. Particularly good shooting was seen from Alice M and captain Georgia demonstrated some great all court play as centre. Our A team played a very competitive match and demonstrated a lot of resilience to come back from a nervous start, regain their composure and win 9 - 7. Helina A showcased some excellent movement and shooting in the shooting circle and Rumanique D consistently supported her team by being in great positions. Very well done to all of the girls who took part: Nina, Shian, Chloe Ne, Sophie, Rumanique, Tito, Helina, Georgia, Victoria, Alice, Marta, Sophia, Sreeya and Chloe N.
