Gold Kitemark for St. Helen's Sport
- a significant breadth of participation and competitive opportunities is provided for pupils
- pupils are engaged in leading, managing and officiating in sport
- the wider school staff support school sport activity
- the school has links with external sports clubs and coaches and information about school sport is regularly shared with parents and the wider community.
These are just a few of the things a school has to achieve to receive the award. Very few schools achieve the gold kitemark so thank you to all of our staff who support the provision of sport. A great many staff are involved in teaching PE, running sports clubs, helping with teams, supervising teams at competitions, putting together club registers, ringing parents for kits, discussing sport on the school council, encouraging children to write about sport and their experiences in the school magazine and providing sports activities at lunchtimes and breaks. Thank you too to our parents for encouraging the children to participate in lots of activities and for your continued support of sport at St. Helen's.
