We have been treated to some super class assemblies this week at school. 3T presented an assembly themed around Maths and problem solving; 1S prepared a colourful assembly all about Chinese New Year and 4T's assembly about India included some excellent dancing. We hope you will enjoy these photos of the children performing to their parents, other pupils and staff!
The children have thrown themselves wholeheartedly into the maths week activities. They have been taught maths through problem solving all week and we have been really impressed with their strategies and determination to reach the answers. Lower School enjoyed a day of 'Magical Maths' and had shows and workshops which left all the children (and staff) amazed! Upper School had an informative session on finances and learnt how to get the most out of their savings. A big thank you to all of the children who have submitted entries to the 3D shape competition; the results will be announced during assembly next week. We hope this week has proved to your children that maths really is fun and that their enthusiasm for maths continues throughout the year.
Some of our Year 5 and 6 girls took part in a friendly swimming fixture with Northwood College this week. All of our girls tried very hard in each race and although the Northwood girls had home advantage our girls really swam well. Our Year 5 girls (Libby, Mia, Abigail, Emma, Yasmin, Charlotte H, Dayna and Olivia) managed to tie the fixture with the Northwood College Year 5 girls, but our Year 6 girls (Aria, Millie, Anneka, Tanya, Maegan, Adeen and Karishma) narrowly lost to the Northwood College Year 6 team. Well done to all team members!
