As part of the London 2012 legacy, we have been invited to participate in a year 4 Olympic Day festival, organised by our local school sport partnership for local primary schools. The event is taking place at Swakeleys School, Clifton Gardens, Hillingdon, on Wednesday 24th April and will involve all pupils in Year 4 from local schools.
We will depart from school at 12.15pm by coach and the event will start at 1pm and finish at approximately 3.30pm. We hope to return to school at approximately 3.50pm; drama club will commence soon after. Class teachers will be attending; however we will need a few parent helpers. If you can help out, please let us know.
The children will participate in a number of fun activities, run by the Swakeley’s Young Leaders, and there will be an opening and closing ceremony where the children can wave their flags.
Children should come to school in full PE kit, polo shirt, shorts, tracksuit, white socks, trainers and a waterproof jacket and as we have chosen to represent India, maybe wear a little bit of orange too! They will also need a full, named water bottle and a small snack in a disposable container to take with them. In the event that there may be some sun, shaded areas will be provided, however pupils should have sun cream applied before school if required and wear sunhats.
Parents are most welcome to come and cheer the children on but will be asked to remain within designated areas. Cars are not permitted on site, therefore please park away from the school and walk down.
In the case of inclement weather and the event is cancelled the children will remain at school.
The event is about having fun and experiencing the London 2012 legacy so we hope the children enjoy taking part.
