Homework is set every night and should be 30 minutes with the exception of Friday’s paper. The children should also practice their recorder for 5 minutes and read for 20 minutes.
Maths Homework is set on Mondays and Wednesdays. Please encourage you children to use the method they have been taught in school. All the methods we use can be found in the KS2 maths guide for parents (listed on the whole school documents page of the website).
The children will be set LYB (Little Yellow Book) on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. This should be 5-10 minutes of work which will either be Schofield and Sims exercises, a worksheet or pre-set questions for the children to answer. There may be occasions when the children are individually asked to practice an area of maths for LYB, but this will be clearly written in their books.
English homework is set on Thursdays and will usually be using the proofreading and editing booklets.
The children will receive their reasoning homework on Fridays which will usually be a paper. Please stick to the timings of the paper and avoid giving the children any help as we will go over the entire paper in Monday's lesson.
Thank you for your support with the new spellings. The language is challenging but it is really important for the children to be exposed to this level of vocabulary in preparation for their exams.
