Reception
A confident start to learning in Reception
In Reception, our pupils continue their journey through the EYFS curriculum with a balance of child-initiated activities and adult-led, focused learning. Our Reception pupils are encouraged to aim high and often achieve results far beyond those expected for their age.
A daily focus on phonics, literacy and mathematics combines with a rich programme of learning that includes personal, social and emotional development, expressive arts and design, technology and activities which deepen their understanding of the world around us. Our Reception children also benefit from weekly specialist-led lessons in Spanish, music, drama and P.E. with highly qualified and experienced teaching staff.
Throughout Reception children enjoy a variety of opportunities to engage in outdoor education, developing their self-confidence, leadership and teamwork skills through a series of fun and challenging ventures.
