Building community and friendship with parents at St. Helen’s College is at the heart of the PA’s vision.

Welcome to the PA from the Chair of the Parents’ Association

“Hi, I’m Nipa, your Chair of the St. Helen’s College Parents’ Association, committed to generating funds to give back to our children. We host events such as our Summer Fete, Christmas Fair, and comedy nights, but we’re always eager to hear your fresh ideas!

Thanks to parents working together and volunteering to help we are able to plan and organise these fun events. Join us at our meetings, become part of our team, and contribute to providing extra resources that directly enrich our children’s school life. Over the past 18 months and in my role as chair, my aim has been to foster and establish an open and transparent working relationship with the school and unite everyone for enjoyable fundraising events, creating an inclusive atmosphere where every child can thrive.”

Supporting and celebrating our school community

We are extremely lucky to have a very friendly, welcoming and proactive Parents’ Association consisting of parents and supporters who give their time to enhance school life for the pupils and to bring our community together.

The PA aims to collaborate and fundraise in a lively and fun way, embracing all willing parents. We try to encourage parental involvement by being motivated, inspiring and effective in the events we organise, such as:

The Summer Fete

+ + –

A fun packed afternoon with fun stalls, games, refreshments, a BBQ, face painting and entertainment provided by the talented school choir and musicians.

The Christmas Fair

+ + –

A jolly festive gathering including carols around the tree, games, arts and crafts, and a selection of seasonal treats.

Parent Quiz Nights

+ + –

A chance for some friendly competition as parents put their general knowledge to the test, sometimes even against the staff!

Sports Day

+ + –

The PA provide a popular stall of refreshments for parents to enjoy at the Prep and Pre-Prep sports day events.

It’s lovely to be part of a PA team that truly cares about creating special moments for the children, bringing smiles through fun events and meaningful gifts funded by our PA activities.

Parent Communication

At St. Helen’s College we operate an open-door policy and actively encourage regular communication and collaboration between home and school. Through class representatives, we aim to engage with all parents and provide opportunities for parents to get involved with us.

Class representatives have a dual role: they help to send out information about the PA’s efforts in the school and encourage parent involvement in their class group, and they also collate class feedback about whole school matters to communicate to the Head and Senior Leadership Team, ensuring that all parents have a voice across the whole school.

If you are a current parent, we would encourage you to become an active supporter of the Parents’ Association, either on their committee, as a class representative or as a volunteer at PA events. You can find out more information by contacting pa@sthelenscollege.com
